Anthony “Tony” DeMarco, 96, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2017. Born June 13, 1920, in Roselle Park, NJ, to the late Guiseppi “Joseph” DeMarco and Lucy Cascio. He joined the Navy in 1939 and served his country until 1945 aboard the USS Tattnall, a destroyer in the Pacific. After his service he resided in Westfield, NJ, and married the former Lucy “Luppi” Cestone and had a daughter Suzanne, both are deceased. He was a former partner with the Fusco Bros. clothes manufacturers of Roselle in the 1950’s until 1960 and then worked as a lab technician with the Atlas Supply Co. of Springfield, NJ, until his retirement in 1985. He married the former Betty Larsen of Westfield,, NJ, in 1988 until her passing in 2015. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion as well as a former officer with the “Tin Can Sailors”. He is predeceased by his brothers Nick, Joe, Carl, Danny and sisters Anne Pingor & Lena Rosa. He is survived by his sister Angela Pingor of Lewes, DE, and many loving Nephews and Nieces. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:45 AM Monday, April 24th, at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd., Whiting, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Polhemus Cremation Services, 203 Main Street, West Creek, NJ.
