Jayne R. Harder
November 19, 1941 - October 25, 2024, Mays Landing/Hamilton Township
Jayne R. Harder, 82, of Mays Landing, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, surrounded by family at Shore Medical Center in Atlantic City.
She was born on November 19, 1941, the only child of William and Ann Roberts in Utica, New York. Jayne was a devoted and loving wife to Vincent D. Harder for 48 years until his passing in November 2011. She cherished her children, Michael Harder (Teresa Harder) of Malvern, PA, and Anneliesa Gaunt (Jerry Gaunt) of Midlothian, VA, as well as her grandchildren: Nathan Harder, Lauren Bonner, Arianna Harder, Gillian Gaunt, and Kyle Gaunt, and great grandchild: Hudson Bonner. She remained close to her husbands surviving siblings and their spouses, Marie and Ron Almagno, Daniel and Margaret Harder, James Harder, and John Harder.
Jayne was an active founding member of Beacon Evangelical Free Church in Absecon, NJ and was involved in missions, the Real Magnolias and widows group. She attended Utica Free Academy before moving onto Syracuse University. Jayne graduated from Syracuse University with a double major in English and Art, and she served as a school teacher until moving to Germany with her husband, Vincent, who was in Military Intelligence. She worked as a realtor in New Jersey for nearly 50 years and assisted a nonprofit providing housing for at risk families in south Jersey.
Jayne loved her horses and dogs, and won numerous awards during her years of riding English-style Tennessee Walkers competitively around the country. She owned Arabian and Miniature horses.
Jayne was known for her heart of service to the community and her church, love for her family, friends, her animals, compassion for those in need.
Jayne is survived by her both of her children, her five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Jayne will be deeply missed but will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she loved and touched. May she rest in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Beacon Evangelical Church, located at 420 6th Avenue, Galloway, New Jersey, with Pastor Pete Nelson and Pastor Michael Harder officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beacon Evangelical Free Church in Absecon.
