Obituary of Gene R. Yogg

Eagleswood Township, NJ – Gene Raymond Yogg, 87, of West Creek, Hamlet of Eagleswood, New Jersey died on June 12, 2023, at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, NJ. Gene was born August 29, 1936, in Newark, NJ. He was the son of the late Veronica Springer and stepson of the late Conrad Springer. He was employed for many years as a sheet metal fabricator in north NJ. Gene was an exceptional carpenter, making beautiful pieces of furniture. He enjoyed collecting & trading rocks, gardening, fishing, coffee, and conversation. Predeceasing Gene was his second wife, Anna Yogg. Gene was survived by companion, Brenda Thomas, his daughter, Kathryn Schneider and husband, Dennis Doyle; grandchildren, Lauren Schneider and husband, Heath Iverson, Carlene Doyle and partner, Jeffrey Kohman, Darren Yogg Jr. and partner, Angelica Schmidt, and 6 great grandchildren. Gene was also survived by his brother, Robert Springer and wife, Arlene Springer, nephews, Michael, and Martin; his sister, Karen Schneeberg and husband, August Schneeberg; nephew, August Jr. and wife, Kate Lovering, nephew, Ian Schneeberg and niece, Alexandra Schneeberg; and a grand-niece and nephew. Niece, Linda Farrell-Araque, nephew David Farrell, nephew Danny Farrell & 6 great nieces & nephews. Predeceasing Gene was his son, Darren Yogg; stepsister, Dottie Farrell; brother, Carl Springer; grandson, Daniel Yogg. Gene was in the care of Polhemus Cremation Funeral Home, West Creek, NJ. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
