Susan Foster Watson, age 76, died peacefully on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, New Jersey, with loved ones present. Susan was predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Foster, and her husband, Lawrence Watson, and a brother, Daniel Foster. She is survived by her daughter, Susanne (Steven) Nuccio of Evergreen, Colorado; and sons, Matthew (Robyn) Watson of Manahawkin, New Jersey; and Christopher (Hanako) Watson of Bend, Oregon. Susan was the proud and loving Gram to Charlotte and Beckham Nuccio and Nolan, Brooks, and Summer Watson. Susan is also survived by her siblings, Thomas Foster of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Marjorie Foster Strong of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Kenneth Foster of Dover, Pennsylvania and Patricia Foster Taylor of York, Pennsylvania. Susan is also mourned by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was born on February 19, 1946 in York, Pennsylvania, and was a 1964 graduate of York Catholic High School. Susan was a content homemaker, and was a solid confidant to many friends and family. She had a perfect solution for even the most mundane issues, and was always ready to lend her shoulder for others to cry on. For 18 years, she worked with youth with special needs for the Los Angeles County School District. She raised her family in York and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Willingboro, New Jersey, and then in West Covina and Palm Desert, California, before returning to the York and Harrisburg area, and finally to Barnegat, New Jersey. She was a kind, generous, funny and entertaining woman who will be remembered fondly by those who knew her. The family wishes to thank all of those who have helped with Susan’s care, especially Carol and Peter Eschmann, who brought her communion when she was homebound, and her dear neighbor, Sophie Cirelli, who often came to assist. A memorial and celebration of Susan’s life will be held in York, Pennsylvania at a later date.
