Elvin L. Mathis, age 86 of New Gretna passed away September 13, 2022 at SeaCrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in New Gretna, son of the late Walter L. and Alice E. Shropshire Mathis, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert.

Elvin was a member of Local 322 Pipefitters and Welders Union and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy Edna Schellenberger Mathis, daughters Sheila and Michelle Mathis, granddaughter Brianna Mathis, sister Georgine Bartlett, sister in law Elaine Weber Mathis, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at Miller Cemetery New Gretna.
