Josina Johanna Helena Jacoba Faber (Pilaar), 83, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, passed away on September 12 at home surrounded by her family.
Josie is survived by her husband John Faber of Little Egg Harbor, as well as her sons Garry Faber and his wife Kathy of Boca Raton, Fl, John Faber Jr and his wife Karen of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and her daughter Patrice Damiano and husband Keith of Beach Haven West, NJ, along with her beloved grandchildren Ryan Faber and his wife Elizabeth, Kelly Faber, Corianne Bartoli and her husband Christopher, Katlyn Bakkar and her husband Yahya, Megan Perri and her husband Raffaele, and Keith Damiano Jr and his fiancé Patricia Eaves and 8 great grandchildren, Constance and William Faber, Carter Bartoli, Kaiya Bakkar, Leonardo Perri, Amira and Taj Bakkar and Callie Bartoli. She is also survived by her sister Mary Pilaar and brothers, Dingeman and Casper. She is predeceased by her parents Johan and Josina and her brothers Johan and William.
Josie was born in Utrecht, The Netherlands to Johan and Josina Pilaar on February 10, 1938. She came to the United States in 1948 where she met John and his family and they eventually married and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. Together they built a home in North Haledon, NJ where they lived for 27 years and raised their children. They also built a vacation home in Cape Cod, MA where they retired in 1996 and lived for 23 years before moving back to NJ to be closer to their children. The years in Cape Cod brought many happy memories and family vacations. Josie was an avid gardener and enjoyed clamming, going to the beach and building sand castles with her grandchildren. Josie was a loving, caring and a special person to everyone who knew her. She loved her family very much and enjoyed the years of family gatherings and celebrations.
