Obituary of Robert W. Drozd
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Walter Drozd, caring and devoted husband to JoAnn, father to Jeremiah Drozd, his wife, Katelyn Nudo-Drozd, Laurie Molloy, and her husband, John, and affectionate grandfather to Stanley and Johnny Molloy, passed at his home in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey on Saturday, July 16th, 2016 at 6:28 PM surrounded by loving friends and family. Robert was born October 8th, 1953 to Albin and Stella Drozd in the city of Passaic, New Jersey. He was a loving brother to Barbara Sabolefski of Templeton, Massachusetts and Kathy Liekweg of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and Pope Pius XII High School in Passaic, New Jersey. He went on to complete a semester at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey and a semester at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, Massachusetts.
Bob, as his friends called him, met JoAnn Procko in the summer of 1980. They were married two years later on July 27th, 1982 in Anchorage, Alaska. This July would have marked their 34th anniversary of what was, by all accounts, a marriage filled with the deepest love and devotion imaginable. Bob worked in the Quality Assurance field for roughly 30 years, retiring from Shock Tech Inc. in Monsey, New York on October 30th, 2015. Robert was passionate about music, fishing, boating, camping, motorcycling, and hiking, and found great comfort in the beauty of the outdoors, especially when sharing his experiences with friends and family. Bob’s most cherished moments were the times he spent with his family. Robert was politically active, opposing military interventions all his life. He was a member of Military Families Speak Out and Veterans for Peace. Bob was both humble and proud, caring and stern, stubborn yet acquiescent; he was complex but he yearned for simplicity. We hope you’ll help us to celebrate his life this coming August 27th, 2016 at 2PM, 12 Madeline Lane, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
