Obituary of Anthony Salvatoriello

Anthony Salvatoriello died at home on July 18, 2019 at the age of 82. 

Anthony was born in Lyndhurst, NJ, and grew up in Nutley, NJ.  He served his country in the U.S. Army’s Military Police in Germany.  Anthony married Serena (nee Petrozzi) in 1988.  Together, they made a wonderful life in Surf City, NJ on Long Beach Island, enjoying their retirement and island life.  Prior to that, Anthony was employed by Atlas Copco Rental in Fairfield, NJ. 

Anthony is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Serena, and his parents, Margaret and William Salvatoriello.  He is survived by his loving daughter, Jean Bjugstad (John), cherished grandson, Julian, his sister, Camille Marrone, and his nieces and nephews.

Tony was an all-around handyman, who could fix or build just about anything. He could be quiet until you got to know him, and then his keen sense of humor would be revealed. He enjoyed fishing, sports, classic movies, game shows, and day trips to Atlantic City.  He and Serena were long time residents in their neighborhood, where they looked out for everyone, summer folks and full timers alike.  Tony embraced being a grandfather, and as Julian’s “Pop”, he was a steadfast, loving, and patient presence, and a wonderful role model.  He left behind many memories for his family and friends to treasure.
