To the Ellis Family -
Your Mom, Peggy, was just the funniest and sweetest neighbor when I was a child growing up on that block. She was beautiful from the inside out. She was warm, kind and laughed easily and often. I will remember her with fondness. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.
Sincerely,
Lisa Miekley

Mrs. Ellis was a very special person to me. I had known her for nearly 49 years, ever since Bridget, Peggy, and Buddy were in my summer playground in the late 60's. We became a bit like extended family, sharing many special times. She even helped me decorate my newlywed apartment. I moved away from Toms River since my husband was in the Navy, but whenever I was home, 21 Madison Ave. was surely on my list to visit.
She always welcomed me and my growing family. We kept up through the years with
Christmas cards, calls, and my visits.
I saw her last Sept. and we had a delightful visit, catching up on all the family news. She was still her feisty, bubbly self! I could see her eyes sparkle and hear the enthusiasm in
telling me about a few of the items that were new to me. In particular, I asked about a picture that turned out to be the Hindenburg. Before leaving, I told her I would be back
this year for my 50th Class Reunion, and that Lord willing, we would visit again. We were
both excited at that prospect.
It is truly with great surprise and sadness that I learned of her passing, but I also have Joy and Greatfulness that she was a part of my life. Shelly, Peggy, Bridget, and Wally please
accept my heartfelt condolences. She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Ellis will always be in our thoughts and prayers. She was a wonderful neighbor who would check in on our mom and dad when they were ill. When we had children of our own, she would come over to inspect and bestow her "Seal of Approval" upon the child, in a most loving way! She found it to be one of her "duties" and performed it graciously for each of our children. The truth is she really just wanted to see and hold the new babies. Her wonderful smile brought brighter times to our lives. She will truly be missed by all. We send our sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of the family.

My prayers and love are with the surviving family members. I have known "Mrs Ellis" for just about 50 years. In my eyes, she was everyone's mom. She welcomed everyone in her home and made them feel as if they were part of her family.
Peggy was one of the strongest, kindest and loving women I had the privilege to have in my life.
I will never forget the times our families shared Christmas Eves together. I know all are in heaven welcoming their newest angel.
Farewell to a fabulous mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Godspeed, Mrs Ellis. You will be sorely missed by all who love you.
