Obituary of John J. Logue

John James Logue, a 69 year old resident of Little Egg Harbor passed suddenly on Thursday December 27th. John was born to George and Pauline on March 9th 1949. In 1965, at the age of 16, John was sent overseas and fought in Vietnam. John would ultimately go on to serve 23 years in the Marines, Army, Navy, and National Guard. During this time he earned multiple awards such as the Army Achievement Medal where he was commended for his drive, common sense, professional knowledge, and devotion to duty. In 1974, John graduated the Philadelphia Police Academy where he served as a motorcycle cop on the highway patrol until his retirement in 1988.  Upon retirement, John settled down in south jersey.

 As a 30 year resident of New Jersey, John was well known for his wicked sense of humor, passion for cars, and fervent adoration of cats. During his life John forged lasting relationships and constantly proved the content and quality of his character. John was loved and will be missed by many.

John is survived by his beloved Caroline, two devoted daughters Melanie and Mary Ann. John is also survived by his seven loving grandchildren: Breanna, John, Amber, Abbey, Jacob, Jordan, and Juliette.

A memorial service will be held in John’s name at Polhemus Cremation Services, 203 Main Street, West Creek, NJ, 08092 on the day of Saturday January 5th between the hours of 1-2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in the name of John James Logue are made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) charity.
