Kenneth "Kenny" Thomas Obituary
Kenneth Thomas, “Kenny”, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Virtua Marlton Hospital. Born in Toms River, he grew up in Barnegat, then lived in Parkertown and Tuckerton before moving to his peace and quiet of Mays Landing.
In early years, he proudly partnered with his brother Danny in business before owning Ken’s Excavation & Landscape Company. Running heavy equipment was his passion as was teaching others.
Kenny enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his 12 grandchildren. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and said he wouldn’t go to sleep without praying or let his feet hit the floor in the morning without praying. He was blessed to find the love of his life for 25+yrs, Shelley. He loved the NY Giants, his Harley-Davidson trike, BBQ, and their dog Casey.
Kenny was predeceased by his father, Roosevelt Thomas, and his mother, Eileen Palmer Thomas. Surviving are his wife Michele “Shelley” Thomas, children; Vanessa Lynn Thomas (Dan), Nicole Eileen Kita (Charles), Justin Brandon Thomas, Jamie Michele Wilson (Jamie), and Connie June Megna (Chris), his grandchildren; Christopher, Dominic, Jada, Dylan, Nathan, Jayden, Antonia, Rory, Olivia, Noah, Teagan, and Ayanna, and 6 siblings; Geraldine Thomas, Tommy Thomas, Danny Thomas, Terrianne Thomas, Patricia Thomas-LaRoche, Rosetta Lomax, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 6, 12–4 p.m. at the Parkertown Volunteer Fire Company, 830 Railroad Dr., Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08087. Kindly wear something blue or NY Giants colors in his memory if you are able to.
