Maureen Duffy (nee Maguire), 88 yrs old, of Little Egg Harbor passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children on May 16,2026. She was able to celebrate Mother's Day with her family one more time. It is a beautiful memory we will always treasure.

"Reenie", or "Aunt Reen", as she was known to family and friends was born in Newark, N.J. to James P. Maguire and Anna Maguire (nee McCluskey) on Aug.25,1937. Reenie graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Newark in 1955. "Reen the Queen" married "Dan the Man" the boy one house away in 1960 and were happily married for 63 years until Danny passed in 2023. A part of her heart left us that day for sure.

She moved with her family "down the shore" in 1970 and lived in Lavallette for many years before moving to Little Egg Harbor.

Reenie was the glue that kept everything together. She truly devoted her life to her family. We believe we were blessed to be able to call her our "Mom". She believed in Prayer and always said God was her best friend. She was the strongest person we, as a family, have ever known. Her will to live and be kind was a life lesson we, as her children, will try to emulate.

Our Mom was an all-sports fan, great cook, loved playing games with family, watching MSNBC, and going to the beach in younger days. And most importantly she would never let you forget that she was a "Maguire not a Duffy". It always made us scream laughing, but she was serious about it.

Reenie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years, Daniel J. Duffy, her parents, sister, Patricia DuBoyce and brother James Maguire. One brother-in-law, Walter DuBoyce and sister in-law, Alice Maguire, and one of her favorite nephews, Joseph DuBoyce.

The best Mom ever leaves behind three children; Daniel, Maureen, and Jane Ellen. Also left behind one grandson Daniel J. Duffy from Aventura, Florida, and brother in-law; Dr. Stephen L. Duffy PHD from Las Vegas, Nevada. And many nieces and nephews and their spouses whom she loved dearly.
