Frances Mae (Wooden) Fisher
December 1, 1934 – April 27, 2026
Frances Mae (Wooden) Fisher (“Fran”) grew up in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, and raised her family in Stockton, New Jersey. She passed away at home in West Creek, New Jersey, surrounded by family, on April 27, 2026, at the age of 91. A memorial service will be
planned at a later date.
Fran was born in Trenton, New Jersey, on December 1, 1934, to Franklyn Wooden, Sr., and Alice Mae (Guhl) Wooden. She attended Pennington High School and graduated from the McKinley School of Nursing in 1953 as a registered nurse. A woman of deep faith, she
believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and shared her faith and the gospel message with others. She was an active member of the Second English Presbyterian Church of Amwell in Mount Airy, New Jersey, for 65 years.
Raised on a poultry farm, Fran was named New Jersey’s first female 4-H egg-grading champion. She was also a founding president of the Delaware Valley Horseman’s Association. She grew up riding horses and met her future husband, John Fisher, while riding on Kuser’s Mountain (Baldpate Mountain). They married on October 1, 1955, after his discharge from the Army, and shared 70 years of marriage.
Fran is survived by her husband, John B. Fisher (formerly of Ewing and Stockton, New Jersey). Her children, Robin Mishkovsky and her husband, Lee, of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey; John Scott Fisher and his wife, Robyn, of Jacksonville, Florida; and Kris Gail Al-Daqa
and her husband, Mohamed, of West Creek, New Jersey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and longtime dear friend Dolores Wooden of Kingwood Township New Jersey, and brother Thomas (Butch) Wooden of Lambertville New Jersey. Grandchildren Michael
Mishkovsky and wife Alexandra, Justina Mishkovsky, Aimee Mishkovsky, Daniel Al-Daqa and wife Jennifer, and Leila Al-Daqa. Great-grandchildren Kaiden Mishkovsky and Kai Mishkovsky; and many nieces and nephews.
