AnnaMarie Grinnell Obituary

(née Adamo, formerly Ricci)

September 5, 1956 – October 2, 2025

AnnaMarie Grinnell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 69, after a courageous and extended battle with cancer.

Born on September 5, 1956, AnnaMarie lived a life defined by love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. A devoted Registered Nurse, she brought compassion and care not only to her patients, but to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Patrick Grinnell, and her seven children: her sons Andrew and his wife Bryana, Anthony and his wife Michelle, George and his wife Dominique, and Adam; and her daughters Allison and her husband Greg, Cynthia and her late husband Russel, and Melissa. She was a proud and deeply loving grandmother to AJ, Santino, Anthony, Gabrielle, Matthew, Evan, Ryan, Deana, Georgiana, Gianella, Meagan, and the late Gregory; and a devoted great-grandmother to Liam, Lily, Sebastien, Nicholas, and Alana.

AnnaMarie’s greatest passion in life was her family. She had a rare gift for making every holiday, birthday, and gathering feel magical—always going out of her way to make her loved ones feel special. Her warmth, generosity, and attention to detail created memories that will be treasured for generations.

Though she had a long and meaningful career as a nurse, AnnaMarie often said, “The greatest job I ever had was being a mother.” She will be remembered for her huge heart, her strength, and her fierce devotion to those she loved. AnnaMarie defied the odds time and again, bravely fighting her illness so she could spend as much precious time as possible with her family. She had a unique ability to make every person she encountered feel seen, valued, and loved—and she left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Truly one of a kind, AnnaMarie’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she held so dear.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10th at 10:00 AM at the Parish of St. Theresa’s, located at 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
