John “Jack” Mariani, 85, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Jack was born on February 27, 1940 in Newark, NJ to his loving parents, John and Eleanor Mariani.
He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea, and California, later receiving an honorable discharge. Jack was also a member of the local VFW, the American Legion Post 0153, and the Teamsters local 560. He worked for Riteway Transportation from 1964 to 1984, then ABF Freight from 1984 until his retirement, earning a 20 year safety award.
Jack was an avid sports fan. His favorite sports were hockey and baseball, specifically the Rangers and Yankees. Jack was a devout Yankees fan.
Jack is predeceased by his parents, John, and Eleanor; his wife, Cheryl; and his brothers Donald, and Richard “Harry”.
Jack was a longtime member and usher at St. Barnabas Church, Bayville, NJ. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Barnabas Church in honor of Jack on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Jack's memory to St. Barnabas Church.
