Stephen J. Marengo, age 73, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025. Born on November 7, 1951, in Queens, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Yvette (Hall) and Robert Marengo.
Steve was a proud graduate of Brooklyn Preparatory School in Brooklyn, New York, and went on to earn his degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Over the years, Steve achieved remarkable professional accomplishments, earning a Master’s
License with the United States Coast Guard. He was also an IGFA (International Game Fish Association) Certified Captain and a Certified NRA Instructor, showing his deep passion for both the water and the outdoors.
An avid fisherman, Steve spent countless hours on the water, living his dream of chasing fish and sharing his passion with others. His love for the outdoors extended beyond fishing; Steve was also an enthusiastic hunter and dedicated NRA instructor. His teachings
and enthusiasm for the outdoors left an impact on all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Steve was known not just for his achievements, but for his great sense of humor. He had a unique ability to brighten any room with his wit, always ready with a clever remark or a story. His lighthearted spirit and playful nature made him a beloved friend
and companion, and his laughter will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Steve will be remembered for the deep love he shared for his family. He is survived by his loving companion of 10 years, Lenore J. (Taormina) Wonski of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, as well as his two sons, Stephen
J. Marengo Jr. and James Marengo. Steve was also a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren.
Steve’s legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his kindness, knowledge, humor, and passion for the outdoors. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
