Linda passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022.

On August 7, 1956, Linda Lyon was the third daughter born to Wayne and Rita Lyon. She grew up in the 49th Street neighborhood of West Philadelphia. She lived in a row home with her parents, her siblings, and her maternal grandparents, both of whom migrated from Italy. She attended and graduated from Our Lady of Angels Catholic School and West Catholic Girls High School.

She was the designated helper to her father, Wayne, who was a jack of all trades. Linda helped him repair, renovate, and maintain the West Philly residence and the family's summer home in Malaga, NJ.

After high school, Linda became employed at Resorts Casino. At Resorts, she met a co-worker who became her best friend, confidant and husband of 42 years, Steve Laning. On May 8, 1980, Linda and Steve were married. They became the parents of three sons: Derrick, Randall and Travis..They are also the loving grandparents of Shawn.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family during holiday events, especially the annual family reunion in Malaga at which her many cousins and friends gathered to reconnect and to share fond memories. Linda was very happy to recently become the owner of the Malaga summer home.

In addition, to her loving husband Steve, her children: Derrick and Travis and grandson, Shawn, Linda is survived by her 3 sisters: Loretta Fioretti (Michael D. Esq.) ;Lorraine Rodriguez(Ramon); Laura Malloy(James) and her two brothers: Wayne Lyon(Mimi) and Mark Lyon(Stacy). She is also survived by 9 loving nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. .

She will be greatly missed by her family and anyone who had the good fortune to know her. She was a loving, honest, generous, unselfish daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

While we are saddened by her passing at such a young age, we are comforted by the knowledge that she lived a life full of love and happiness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
