Obituary of John C. Pharo

Jack Pharo passed away peacefully at home with the additional care from Meridian Hospice on December 11th, 2017. 

He was born August 5th, 1939. He was the son of Dorothy and Thomas aka Zip Pharo. He grew up in Barnegat with brother Thomas, sister Verna and brother Wayne. Jack married Nancy Devery of Forked River, the mother of his three sons Sean, Keith and Darian. 

He was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam. Upon his return from the service he attended barber school and later opened his own barber shop known as "Jack's Barber Shop" in Barnegat. He maintained his business and worked for 46 years behind the same barber chair. 

In 1997 he married Andrea Mack. They were together for 37 years; married for twenty years and in each other lives for 17 years.  Through this union he gained a loving step-daughter, Rena Soter.

Jack has 8 grandchildren and1 great grandchild. Katie and Kevin parents Sean and Regina Pharo. Kori, Laura and Keith parents Keith and Shannon Pharo. Trenton, Jake and Ryan parents Darian and Sue Pharo. Great grandchild Jayden. 

Jack requested to be cremated and to have a private family memorial to be held on December 15th, 2017 at 11:00 am. 

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 at the Manahawkin Methodist Church 116 Stafford Ave. in Manahawkin at 7:00 pm. A celebration of his life will be held at Calloway's Rt. 9 in West Creek following the service.

In lieu of flowers Jack's request was to make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project made in his memory.
